Born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat, Gandhi's activism reached a critical juncture in 1942 when he spearheaded the Quit India movement. This initiative aimed at urging the British to relinquish their hold on India. His commitment to this cause resulted in imprisonment on multiple occasions for alleged political offenses. Throughout his activism, he consistently upheld the principles of satyagraha, advocating non-violence as a means of protest.

The culmination of his efforts was met with profound sorrow during India’s partition, where he tirelessly sought peace between communities.
